RMT'S ROLE:
- Engineering design, procurement, and construction of civil and electrical system BOP
- Construction of 21 miles of access roads, five acres of laydown yard, and 38 miles of underground collector system
- 6.2 miles of 138 kV transmission line
- Spread-footer foundations, poured in-place concrete construction with steel reinforcement
- 138 kV/34.5 kV substation and interconnect switchyard
- Construction of operations and maintenance buildings
- Fiber optics communication and SCADA network
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Assisted owner with local, state, and federal permitting, resulting in on-time construction commencement
- Designed all civil and electrical components of the wind plant successfully on a fast-track schedule
- Developed an effective foundation design/ build approach to address shallow water table and soft soil conditions
- Obtained third-party engineering acceptance of the foundation and collector system designs to facilitate project fi nancing by owner
- Provided interconnect assistance to owner and secured additional MW of interconnection with cost-effective system upgrade requirements
- Provided ongoing energy, environmental, and
economic benefits:
- Generates enough electricity to power approximately 38,621 homes annually
- Offsets the combustion of approximately 178,469 tons of coal per year, which reduces the equivalent of 234,900 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere annually
- Provides income to local landowners through annual lease payments
