Patua Geothermal Project

RMT'S ROLE:

RMT prepared an EA for a proposed 60-MW geothermal development project near Fernley, Nevada for Gradient Resources. The proposed wells would be developed on geothermal leases issued by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The project also included construction of a new transmission line through the Fernley Wildlife Management Area. Much of the land surface in the area is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation. RMT prepared the EA pursuant to NEPA for the Carson City Stillwater Field Office of the BLM. The Bureau of Reclamation, Lahontan Basin Area Office was a cooperating agency, as was the Nevada Department of Wildlife.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES:

The significant environmental issues addressed included biological resource, water, and hydrologic issues.
