RMT'S ROLE:

RMT is providing engineering, procurement and construction of the civil and electrical system Balance-of-Plant (BOP), including the following:

  • Turbine access roads, crane walks and pads, laydown areas and building platforms
  • P&H tensionless pier turbine foundations
  • 34.5kV/230kV collector systems
  • SCADA/fiber optic communication systems
  • Two overhead transmission line taps to interconnect to existing 220kV transmission lines
  • Two turnkey substations
  • Erection of 37 Gamesa G80 and 23 Gamesa G87 turbines on 67 meter towers, including anchor bolt tensioning, mechanical, and electrical
  • Engineering and construction of O&M building
  • FAA lighting and meterological tower
  • Storm water management design

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The facility commenced commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2011
  • Windstar Wind has the capacity to power approximately 32,000 homes annually
